Apps distributed outside the Play Store update differently. There is no silent background upgrade, no “update all” button. You either accept a prompt inside the game or install the current package over the top yourself. This page covers what actually changes between builds, when updating matters, and what to do when an update goes sideways.

Stability and connection handling

The most valuable and least advertised category. Better reconnection after a dropped signal genuinely matters in Pakistan, where a hand can be lost simply because a 4G cell handed you over mid-round.

Table and variant additions

New variants, seasonal rooms and tournament formats show up regularly. These are optional; ignoring them costs you nothing.

Interface adjustments

Button placement, chip animation speed, clearer showdown displays. Occasionally an update moves something you were used to — give it a session before complaining.

Anti-cheat and account security

Behind-the-scenes work against automated play and modified clients. This is the main reason old builds eventually stop connecting at all.

Should You Update?

Generally yes, for two practical reasons rather than any excitement about features. First, servers eventually refuse older clients, and when that happens the game simply will not load. Second, connection-handling improvements reduce the frustration of dropping out of a pot you had already paid into.

The one time to wait is if you are mid-tournament or on a poor connection — finish what you are doing, then update on Wi-Fi.

How to Update Without Losing Anything

1. Confirm your account is linked to a mobile number. Guest accounts are device-bound and this is the moment that matters.
2. Note your current chip balance so you can verify it afterwards.
3. Download the current APK.
4. Install it over the existing app — do not uninstall first unless an error forces you to.
5. Open the game, sign in with the same number, and check the balance.

If you do have to uninstall, make absolutely sure the account is linked first. An unlinked guest balance cannot be recovered by anyone.

Problems After Updating

Game will not open

Clear the app cache from Android settings, then reopen. Cached assets from the previous build are the usual culprit.

Chips missing

Check that you signed in with the same number rather than starting a new guest session. This accounts for the overwhelming majority of “my chips disappeared” reports.

Slower than before

Newer builds sometimes raise graphics defaults. Turn animation quality down in settings on older hardware.

“App not installed” during update

A signature mismatch, usually because the existing copy came from a different (often modified) source. Uninstall the old app — after confirming your account is linked — and install fresh.
